Getting down to business in the new building

Peter T. Paul’s $25 million challenge gift honors and builds upon the Whittemore School of Business and Economics’ tradition of excellence, and will provide students and faculty with a world-class, 21st century facility that prepares students for today’s—and tomorrow’s—business world. The cachet and strength of the Whittemore name will not disappear.

The Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics will expand and improve the academic experience for students and faculty. It will also help establish a new quadrangle on the west side of campus. Here, alumni will find welcoming space for professional conferences and networking events. Business leaders will find a resource for best practices, professional development and future employees. In short, Paul College will be a vibrant asset to all of us who care about business development at UNH and in the state of New Hampshire, whether we are students, faculty, alumni, public servants, or business people.

During his inauguration address on September 16, 2008, President Mark Huddleston announced he will work with the dean and faculty of the business school and the Board of Trustees to name the graduate programs in business after Laurence Whittemore.

The Whittemore name is a well-known brand in the Northeast and will continue to be extremely well-respected and recognized in graduate business education.
